How to download and flash Samsung original software
If you own a Samsung smartphone that runs on Android OS, this is a guide to download and flash the original firmware on your device with the latest Android version.
First: to download the latest software specified for your Samsung model you need to go to Sammobile the specialized website for downloading Samsung stock firmware. You must register a free account by clicking join in the top right corner then join the free option on the next page
Enter your info to complete your free account registration
After making your free account you can login by pressing login in the top right corner then click on the firmware section to search for the original stock firmware for your device.
In the next page type in your Samsung smartphone model number as written on the box or on the boot screen
In the next page you can type in your country for compatible language support then after that click the desired software version and click regular download
After completing the download you will need the following to flash the firmware
- A PC running Windows operating system
- Download ODIN Flash tool on your PC from Download Odin All Versions
- Original USB cable for your device
- charging your phone not less than 60%
- Download Samsung Kies on your PC to get latest Samsung drivers Be careful to exit Samsung Kies after installing it on your PC to avoid incompatibility when flashing using ODIN
Enable USB debugging from settings>> developer options
You may need to press the Build number in the About device section several times (about 7 times) to unhide the Developer Options selection.
Enter the ODIN Download Mode by long pressing Volume Down + Power + Home keys then press Volume up to connect the device to the PC using the USB cable
After connecting the device to your PC in Download mode start ODIN in your PC as Administrator by right clicking the icon. you must get the COM port highlighted to ensure that your device is connected properly
Tick Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time only
You can find original Samsung software as one file in MD5 format that can be flashed by defining the file path in the PDA tab in the ODIN flashing tool
You can also find some old Samsung stock firmware consists of three files in MD5 format that can be flashed using ODIN by choosing the appropriate file in the PDA , Phone (modem) and CSC tabs in the ODIN Flash tool
Click start to Flash the firmware and be careful not to interrupt the flashing process for any reason until ODIN shows a green Pass sign to indicate a successful flashing process after that the Phone will reboot automatically
ODIN flashing tool may indicate a red FAIL sign and that could be a missing driver or bad USB cable
If the flashing process stuck at FACTORYFS for more than 15 minutes then there must be a problem in your device and you must get official support from Samsung in your country. Your device may get stuck at boot screen so follow this guide to solve the problem.
